Workout tunes from my rad fitblr buddy.
For those of you that were curious - here is the first of the tracks on the first CD my buddy gave me. I was so suprised by the awesome mix of songs. I LOVED THEM ALL. It was about 50/50 songs I knew and songs I didn’t. Buddy if you’re reading this: you have excellent taste in music. THANK YOU.
I marked the songs I knew.

*Eye of the Tiger -...
Anonymous asked: DISCLAIMER: I AM A SLOW RUNNER. Hopefully by then I won't be too slow, but still. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to help you control yourself around Ben seeing as I don't think I'll be able to either. We'll make fools of ourselves together, it'll all be good. (: The only problem I can foresee is I may possibly be out of the country...hopefully not...but maybe....
Anonymous asked: Hey it's your buddddddy. So I see you're doing the Do Life 5k in DC. Well guess what...SO AM I! So, I think we should run it together. It's not until July or August so I assume the secrecy will be over. If not, well we can figure it out then but it would be really cool to run it with you. (:

Is there an opposite to a NSV?
Because I’m pretty sure there is.
I made a post a while back about how, now that I’ve lost some weight, I can once again wear the ring that the boyfriend bought me almost four years ago. It was a cheap little ring that he got off a street vendor. I’m not really a jewelry person - but I love that fucking ring.
Anyway, it fits perfectly now - so I can wear it every day. Which is...

shandoeslife asked: Stupid reply is too short. I didn't use an app on my phone when I was doing it. Instead I found military cadence that were the length of the increments I needed and then I made a playlist that switched back and forth so I'd know when to stop and when to start running then I added a warm-up and cool down song at the beginning and end. After I started doing the longer run increments I...
Anyone use a really good C25K app on their phone?
I’ve decided to do the C25K program (hurray!) - now all I need is a good app for my phone to help me out. I have the Evo from Sprint - if that makes any difference at all.
I know there’s a bunch of you out there who have done this program - any of you got app advice?
Please and thank you.

You are already running a mile if memory serves so doing C25K will be challenging yet totally doable for you. I started from week 1 with no running experience at 235 and ran my first 5K race last Saturday. You’ll love it!
Thank you for sharing. CONGRATS on your first 5k!!! What a huge accomplishment. You are totally inspiring. I can’t...

February Goals
1) Start the C25K program - my fitblr buddy and the impending Do Life 5k have me motivated. I am so ready for this.
2) Start riding my bike again (on the days I don’t run)- now that the snow and ice are gone. And try to get Rusty to come with me - without crashing/getting hit by a car.
3) Lay off the sweets. Even though I always calculate it into my calories I know I just don’t need...

January goals, revisited.
1) Eat simpler - this is the new mantra I want to follow. Nothing from a box. Nothing from can. If I can’t pronounce it, I shouldn’t be eating it. This may mean a little more work on my part, but I think it’s totally worth it. WIN! I think I did really well with this - of course, there’s always room for improvement. Definitely a goal I will be keeping all through 2011.
2) Exercise more...

Thank you to each and every one of you for liking and commenting on this post. If it weren’t for you guys I wouldn’t have continued on with my health and fitness journey, would never ever have even considered running, and would never have thought a sub-twenty minute mile possible.
You guys make this all possible.

So, I re-ran that mile... and beat my PR FOR A...
Me upon discovering that my GPS/phone app failed to capture the awesome run I had - which would have been my final submission for the fitblr races.
Despite being upset - I decided to man the fuck up and run the mile again. I was going to get visual proof, damnit.

I love you all so freaking much.
Thank you so much for the support with my last post. Every day you guys remind me why I started a tumblr. The love and support you give me is amazing.
That’s it. Bring it in for a group hug. All of you.
Don’t get me wrong, I was super excited to have that run - I was just upset that I didn’t get it recorded for my final time for the fitblr races.
Anonymous asked: Hey buddy, congrats on your breaking your PR mile time! That's awesome. I sent some stuff out for you today so hopefully you get it soon. (:

I just ran the best and fastest mile of my life.
But my GPS messed up on my phone and I didn’t get the right data collected to my app.
Son. Of. A. Bitch.
I’m going to take five minutes, cry, and then go back out there and try to do it again.
